Dear Newspaper, Gang violence is dangerous to everyone including the innocent people on the streets. More importantly the gang members themselves, most of them are innocent. They join gangs to feel accepted. We fully supported our son’s decision to join the gang “The Royal.” He was killed last night because the murderer saw him wearing a purple jacket that had printed on it “Royals.”
I think the mayor and police should crack down on gang crime and have more patroling officers on the street. My son was lying on the ground for almost twenty minutes and no one helped him. If we had more officerssome would have found him and helped him. Another suggestion would be to arrest gang leaders and eventually eliminate them.
I have one last thing to say, I would asked that the killer please step forward so you don’t live your life in shame. I hope you feel ashamed of what you’ve. Taking an innocent persons life is stupid thing to do. You didn’t even know his name, yet you will always remember the name, Andy.
